Tap Fish for Android

If you’ll do a quick scan over the Android App Market, you’ll notice that Tap Fish is one of the most popular free games for Android. This is how I decided to give it a try, even though I don’t like fish very much.

Tap Fish is actually a pretty simple and maybe a little boring game. You have a fish tank and you have to take care of your fish. Feed them every day, love them, clean the tank and when they grow old you can sell them and earn money which you can spend on buying more fish.  If you forget to feed the fish in time, then they will die. This is pretty much the whole plot of the game. No real purpose, no tricky obstacles and no action. Judging from the graphics of the game, I’d say TapFish is one of the nicest games for Android. But there’s nothing more to it, taking care of fish is just boring.

Anyway, this is merely my opinion. I suggest you go right away to the Android Market and download Tap Fish to you phone.  Please let me know if you liked it!

Below are some screenshots of Tap Fish:

Android Games for Windows Mobile

This is not a game review, nor will I provide you a list of games that work both on Android and on Windows Mobile, because there is no such thing! I’ve been getting more and more visits from search queries similar to this: android games for windows mobile. It seems that many people don’t know yet what the difference between mobile OS is, to these people I’d like to make the situation more clear.

I’ll try to put it briefly, without flourishing dozens of technical explanations. Android and Windows Mobile are two different operating systems for mobile phones. They were designed in different times, by different people and they were coded in TOTALLY different programming languages. Windows Mobile is, just like any other Microsoft software, based on C++ while Android was created in Java.

Same goes for any apps and games for these two operating systems. They were created in different languages. Trying to install an Android app on a Windows Mobile device is just like trying to make an indian a greek understand each other. It will not work!

I’m afraid Windows Mobile users will have to stick to Windows Mobile games or they can sell their old phone and get an Android.

Cut the Rope: one cool Android game for kids

I installed Cut the Rope on my Android noting that it is one of the most downloaded games for Android. I enjoyed the interfaced, the silly levels and after 15 minutes I had completed the game, which made me think: this game is sure nice, but entertaining rather to kids.

The purpose of the game is to get the candy into the dinosaur’s mouth. You cannot move the dinosaur but you can move the candy, which is bounded to several wires. Cut the wires in the right order, so that the candy lands directly in the dinosaur’s mouth. It’s pretty easy… after a few level you pretty much get the move and can go on from level to level pretty easy. But I’m sure it won’t become boring to your little kid! The cute graphics and background sounds bring even more charm to Cut the Rope.

Cut the Rope is entirely free and you can download it from the Android Market.

X Construction Lite

A  very interesting construction game for Android: it reminds me very much of the well known Railroad Tycoon, yet it is far more simpler. In X Construction Lite you have to build bridges over various valleys, so that any train can pass safely, without hurting any of the passengers. Each level contains a different valley and different amounts of available resources. Your mission is to construct a perfectly stable bridge within the given grids.

I have had very much fun with this game, as specially at the end of each level, when my bridge fails to sustain the train and the passengers start screaming very loud. the graphics are very cool, playing X Construction Lite can become very entertaining… that is if your are a pacient person.

Constructing the grids is a bit difficult, since selecting the position of the grids is done by touching the display with your fingers. This makes the game a bit difficult and irritating: you have to look very closely and check if the bridge pieces are at the correct spots. After this I have to remark that the game is very, very hard. Bridges fall apart more easily then you could ever imagine. Sometimes it takes even hours to construct the stable bridge. Yet it you have that kind of time, for example if you’re going on a trip, X Construction Lite can become very entertaining and make time fly by in a glipse.

X Construction Lite can be downloaded for free directly from the Android Market. Screenshots below:

PS: did anyone manage to get past level 6?

A simple shooter game? That’s not precisely how I would call Eagle Nest. This game uses all of your Android phone’s resources and powers one of the most extreme shooter games for this mobile OS. In three words I would characterize Eagle Nest as: fast, clear and beautiful.

Use your skills and weapons to shoot as many targets as you can. This way you can advance to higher levels. The cool graphics and the fast speed it what makes this shooter game so special. Every move is controled through the touch screen, by taping the targets with your finger.

You can now donwload Eagle Nest directly from the Android app market for free. Below are some screen shots, I hope you’ll enjoy this game!

Impossibe Shoota

Starboxer and Sho-dan are two competitive teams that are trying fighting with ships against each other. Unfortunately the war didn’t turn out so well and you’re the only one left alive from your team. Use your special skills and try to destroy as many Sho-dan as you possibly can, it would be great if you’d even manage to take all of them down!

Collect special features and bonuses from the Sho-Dan ships you’ve taken down and teleport from spot to spot, in order to avoid getting hit by an enemy’s missle. Do you’re very best and rank highest! You will be featured on the online score board in Impossible Shoota.

Below I attached some screenshots of the game. To get it on your Windows Phone 7, please check the Market and download it from there.

Tetris for Windows Phone 7

Since Android and Windows Phone 7 seem to bcecome the most preferred mobile operating systems, we’ve decided to focus more on games for these two OS.

Tetris7 Windows Phone Screenshot

This time we’re introducing Tetris7: Sigurd Snørteland did a very simple but yet brilliant thing. He took the normal Tetris app for Silverlight and updated it, in order to work on Windows Phone 7. Thanks to him, he now have a very stylish, fun Tetris game to play on the Windows Phone.

Move the bricks around, turn them to form complete rows and make them disappear. Your scores will then be registered on a Top Scores list, together with your name.

Tetris7 was released 3 weeks ago and it is currently among the top 10 apps for Windows Phone 7.

To download Tetris7, open Marketplace on your Windows Phone, search for “tetris7″ and directly install the game from there or if you’re viewing this page from your phone, click our download link.
