We recently reviewed two Sudoku applications for Windows Mobile, Resko Sudoku Touch and Simply Sudoku, this app was made to bring Sudoku to the Windows Phone 7.

The invention of touch phones must have been the best possible thing for Sudoku lovers. Touch displays meant you can carry your sudoku games anywhere. Just slide that phone out of your pocket, click “new game” and start solving sudoku puzzles by easily moving numbers with your fingers.

We now present you the first free Sudoku application for Windows Phone 7. Sudoku can be downloaded from the Windows Phone app market. After the installation it loads your phone with hundreds of different sudoku puzzles. Chose what level you wish to play, play by timer, get hints and improve your puzzle solving skills. This application now comes in many different languages including Italian, Spanish, French and English.

It works absolutely fantastic, there is though one bug we should warn you about: closing the application automatically resets your puzzle. If during a puzzle you’re answering a call or you just switch to another application, your puzzle will be lost. And when restarting the Sudoku app you will have to start from the beginning.

If you’re viewing this page from your Windows Phone, here’s where you can directly download Sudoku from.

I think Resco Sudoku Touch fits best to those of you who spend lots of time playing sudoku. In comparison to Simply Sudoku, the sudoku game developed by Resco can be considered in a way the advanced version of the game.

Not only does it support Windows Mobile 5, but it is compatible to about any Windows Mobile OS.

Instead of describing the game from my present experience, I’d like to quote Shaun McGill who already formulated my idea prefect:

“Sudoku Touch is simple to set up, a pleasure to use and the iPhone style interface has been implemented to perfection. For a moment there, I forgot I was playing it on a Windows Mobile device.”

Resco Sudoku Touch is indeed a pleasant experience, however you have to keep in mind this: great experience demands a great price. The one time fee for this game is $19.95.

Note that Resco Sudoku Touch is also entirely compatible and runs in full screen mode on WVGA phones.
